The GCCP method uses gravel into which cement has been mixed in place of the conventional sand in the sand compaction pile method, to form high strength gravel cement piles. Due to this the texture of the soil for improvement (highly organic soil) is not affected as in deep mixing methods, and gravel cement piles that are very strong and of consistent quality can be formed.
