Hong Kong International Airport Runway 3 DCM work (Package 1)

2018 / Overseas / Groundwork

Currently Hong Kong International Airport has two runways in use, but to meet growth in demand construction work started in 2016 on a third runway on the northern side of the airport island. The whole area of about 650 ha earmarked for the third runway is of soft ground, so a deep composite mixing (DCM) method was adopted as a subsidence stability countermeasure, and Fudo Tetra implemented part of this ground improvement work.
